Amir Javasoul, Nightclubber Podcast 135

A native of Tehran and Montreal, Amir Javasoul began DJing after being inspired by the style and productions of Chicago house legend Derrick Carter. Following his beginnings in the Montreal rave scene, he soon began playing parties and refining his skills, paving the way for the next chapter. Moving to Paris in 2001, Amir would hold residencies at many of the clubs in the city: Queen, Studio 287, Terassa, RedLight as well as PlastikPeople. He would go on to tour throughout Europe and North America and play venues such as The End, Pacha Ibiza or Cafe d’Anvers.

Aside from being heavily influenced by chicago house, Amir’s musical taste has also been shaped by DJ Harvey as well as Ricardo Villalobos. He developed his own unique style, mixing house and techno, blending new and classic vinyl, later adding digital to the mix.

Since returning to Montreal in 2011, Amir has kept up a busy schedule playing or holding residencies at most of the city’s main venues. Highlights include playing the opening of Piknic Electronik 2013 season with Carl Craig, Igloofest closing 2014 alongside Adam Beyer and sharing the decks with Fabric London’s Craig Richards during the most recent 2014 Piknic season.

2015 is off to a strong start for Amir as he debuted in Room 1 of London’s Fabric nightclub on January 10th, joining Ricardo Villalobos and Craig Richards.

On the production front, Amir, alongside friend and studio partner Maher Daniel are known as Creatures Of Habit.
