Nightclubber 2nd Anniversary

Nightclubber started in the first days of 2009 and was at originally just a website to provide mixes and livesets . Over the past two years it evolved into a website that besides providing mixes , now promotes : artists, releases, compilations, events and so on . Whether you’ve notified or not , it involved a lot of work and passion : 4 websites , a lot of struggling with the hosts etc . We celebrate two years and we thought it would be proper to organize an anniversary party . So on February the 19th we invite you to have a little fun in Timisoara , Setup Venue . As for the lineup we thought it would be interesting to have a mixture of styles and a romanian lineup : Cosmin TRG , Alexandru Jijian,TBF and our friends SoulMachine . So if you didn’t already meet them let me help you out :

Cosmin TRG

Cosmin Nicolae, known to the majority of people as Cosmin TRG first caught the attention of BBC Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs, with his first 12″ on Hessle Audio. Versatile forward-thinking producer, with releases on Tempa, BPitch Control, Hotflush, Fabric, This is Music, Against The Grain, Marine Parade, Cool & Deadly, Soul Jazz, to name but a few, he keeps an unique take on interesting dancefloor music, constantly re-inventing and crafting his own style.

Being the first Romanian producer drafted amongst the fine selection of the Toronto Red Bull Music Academy in 2007, his modern electronics got support from the likes of Apparat, Gilles Peterson, A Made Up Sound, MJ Cole, Zed Bias, Rob Da Bank, Zinc, Laurent Garnier, Mary Anne Hobbs, Modeselektor, Marcel Dettmann, Martyn, Sinden, Roska, Falty DL, the Arpiar collective, Thomas Melchior, DJ Pete aka Substance and the list goes on.

From Fabric, The End or Cargo in London to the mighty Flex in Wien or WMF in Berlin, from festivals like Sonar or Monegros to the notorious Paris Techno Parade or Melt Festival in Germany, Cosmin TRG has seen it all. By far the most acclaimed Romanian producer worldwide, he is a regular in music magazines such as Mixmag, DJ Mag, iDJ, Groove, Fact Magazine, Resident Advisor or Pitchfork Media.

Recently, Cosmin stated that he will permanently move to Berlin, so this could be his last Romanian gig for quite some time now.

Alexandru Jijian

“When I see people dancing and smiling while I play, I know that we’ve overcomed the long and hard process of getting to know each other. Sound helps me create a bridge that makes the direct communication seem old and rusty.

I haven’t tried to integrate in the clubbing / dance euphoria scene in a different way than how I started: I continue to be a loyal nightlife consumer, I have my own vision of the Romanian electronic music scene and I work hard to bring it to life.

I am constantly fascinated by simple ambient music, with long synths and beautiful harmonies. This is an obvious collective reminiscence of the 70’s, a period that I can only dream about but that I can feel when I hear its music. This is why in my sets the slow and coherent build-up is a recursive element. I play idm, electronica, experimental music, glitch and sounds influenced by the rhythms of Jamaican dub.  I play music under the protective cloak of industrial Berlin. I play music for the mind that lives in a dancing body. Techno music for Temporary Autonomous Zone.” says Alexandru Jijian

One of the future artist you should be checking out in the future is the TBF . The young romanian producer defines his style as jazz influenced, soul, funk and disco as his way of life. With releases on Minority, Robsoul, Oomph, Royalty Records, Digi Funk, Kinjo Music, Dustpan Recordings or Footwear, the young romanian producer reached his peak when he was invited at this year’s edition of  Winter Music Conference in Miami. Just to realise the amount of talent list to what Dj Sneak had to say : “There’s this kid called TBF from Romania, he’s 19 years old, and he’s coming up with some of the toughest house shit that I’ve heard from Europe, Eastern bloc Europe, you know what I’m saying, these people just now got decks and parties and shit you know. So this guy is 19, he’s making some really really good stuff. Jackin’, energetic, it’s not techno, it’s not electro, its straight house”

Or ZPH + Zephir , two talented Dj/Producers from Bucuresti that we met like when started. Since then they became our project’s DJ members. Their style is a bit hard to define , in my oppinion a genre of it’s own , really groovy, dynamic and melodic . We hosted a lor of their mixes and recently since we started podcasting you can listen to ZPH work on our intro podcast . Togheter they started this duo SoulMachine  , great style and we think you will hear more of them in the near future .
