Phrasis Veteris – 25 August EP Review

Summer is here, and in case you haven’t noticed, our friends Phrasis Veteris will certainly put you in the right mood with their latest release on Dana Ruh‘s label Brouqade.

Starting up, we have title track “25 August” on the A Side which transposes you directly to the beach with a lengthy intro containing within it the summer vibes in the form of a positive synth line, short but pleasant percussion and a distant female voice that is mumbling with an almost reminiscing tone. A smooth filter helps the track become more dynamic, giving way to the beat and brighter details to the percussion, adding to the summery groove.

The B side “Love” is a bit more powerful and constant than the previous but still maintains that positive relaxing vibe while keeping it highly danceable. The soothing vocal, along with the playful melody, complements the powerful beat and deep bass. I can imagine many DJs will be playing this a lot these coming months.
The third track is the Dub version of “Love” and is a more straight forward version that will be available only as a digital exclusive.

25 August is up for presale on decks.de and will be out June 21st
