As producers, Yvel & Tristan got real appreciation in the industry from around 2003. At first, as it used to be, the hungarian electronic music scene discovered the talent of the guys. They became a general favourite nubreed producer duo of the hungarian DJs. Their fame rested upon their new productions that were filled with emotions and melody. In the beginning they left good impression in expert electronic music lovers with their remixes then made a name for themselves with own productions. First remixes found favour with a DJ who’s thought to be the biggest icon of hungarian electronic music. He is Krisztian Horvath aka Chriss, the owner of Foundation Records and founder of The Quasar formation. Chriss became the biggest supporter of Yvel & Tristan and asked them to make a remix for The Quasar’s very first track called Together in 2004. This remix got famous across Europe and was played in John Digweed’s legendary Kiss 100 Show in the same year.
Their first released track was Gaelic on Eclectik Records also in 2004. They continued working with The Quasar and made two new tracks (Pillow and Lifted) exclusively for Chriss’ The Trip – Redirection Of Sound compilation. Pillow also appeared on Global Underground 028 – Shanghai mixed by Nick Warren. It was the first hungarian track ever to be found on a GU compilation.. From that time their international fame got bigger and bigger. The guys were invited to some places in Central and Eastern Europe in 2005, for example a Czech electronic music festival in Brno at Boby Centrum in front of an audience about 6000. During that summer, they made a remix for ‘The Quasar – October’ and it’s been released on Foundation Records’ first EP. John Digweed became attached to the guys, he played this remix in his show on Kiss FM exactly the same date as in 2004. This fall they got another request, this time from Snake Sedrick to make a remix for ‘Snake Sedrick & Khans – Circular’ which has been released on United States based Hunya Munya Records.
Not much later a request came about hosting an own radio show on Justmusic.fm which considered to be one of the best European electronic music radio on the web. The new radio show, called ‘Foundation Hours’ is broadcasted every wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and has two parts: each week a mix is played from a guest DJ, then the guys play an hour in the second half. From fall 2005 until end of 2008 they had an other radio show with Andro and Snake Sedrick called Indigo on Proton Radio which undoubtedly is the best electronic music radio on the web. This show was broadcasted every month in four, hour-long parts: first from Andro, second from Yvel & Tristan, third from Snake Sedrick and the fourth was always a guest mix generally from another hungarian producer or DJ. These shows’ reputation flew over the borders and from summer 2006 Yvel & Tristan got many invitations not only from the surrounding countries but they performed at prominent party places in Lebanon, Bulgaria, Lithuania or Greece. Over the years they performed by the side of Steve Lawler, Dave Seaman, Jody Wistrernoff, Sander Kleinenberg, Jimmy Van M, Seb Fontaine, Desyn Masiello, Eelke Kleijn, Steve Porter, Chris Fortier, Özgür Can, Jonathan Lisle, Andy Moor, Stephane K, John Creamer, Audiofly, Johan Gielen, Roland Klinkenberg, and Marcus James.
Naturally, their name also appears on hungarian party flyers besides plenty of foreign performances. Every weekend they appear somewhere in the country, from smaller underground clubs with 3-500 people to bigger venues with an audience of 1-2000. The guys also have turned up in every electronic music club in Budapest. In 2007 they released their first compilation, which was the fourth part of the CD series of Justmusic.fm, after Chriss of The Quasar, Dandy and Tommyboy. As expected, a tour was attached to the release. 2008 brought the second and third Global Underground appearance: Nick Warren put two of their tracks on 035 – Lima, these were Chriss of the Quasar feat. Yvel & Tristan – Panama and a remix for Stan Kolev’s Soma Funk. Watching Sander Kleinenberg appearing with two tracks on Sasha’s GU 013 – Ibiza as kids, it was amazing to live through the same nine years later. In the beginning of 2009 Yvel & Tristan visited Poland and France and now they are back in the studio for creating the hottest tracks for the new season.
