Andy Catana delivers new single My Heartboom via his own Do Easy Records imprint mid-October, accompanied by remixes from Subb-An, lan F. and Paul Walter. Hailing from the Austrian capital of Vienna, producer and DJ Andy Catana has been making his mark on the contemporary House scene over the past decade through releases on Moon Harbour, Endless Rotation, Valioso and his own Do Easy Records which has also played host to material from the likes of SIT, Voigtmann, Markus Fix, Michael Melchner and more.
The original mix of My Heartboom’ leads, the result of an attempt to make an edit of 90’s classic French Affair ‘My Heart Goes Boom’ which took a turn and became something something else entirely, fusing swinging breaks and squelchy acid licks alongside ethereal pads, a murky bass line and garage-tinged vocals. One Records’ Subb-An steps in on remix duties next, bringing a more percussive drive to the things while keeping the core spirit of the original in focus.
lan. F’s remix follows next, embracing a more electro leaning aesthetic via crunchy drums, wandering bass grooves, resonant synth flutters and sweeping synth textures. Paul Walter’s take on My Heartboom’ then rounds things out, bringing a raw, rave feel to things courtesy of menacing stabs, choppy bass notes and bumpy drums.
